When are the refurbishment works due to commence?

The works are due to start week commencing 25th October 2021.

When will the swimming pool re-open?

Based on current information given to us from the contractors we are hopeful that we will be looking at a full re-opening on Tuesday 4th January 2022

What are you doing to Chepstow Leisure Centre during the refurbishment?

Phase 1 of the refurbishment will include the following:

  • Re-decoration of the pool hall
  • Upgrade to the glazing in the viewing area
  • Full replacement of celling
  • Upgrade to LED lighting (* see information below on the Re:Fit Programme)
  • Installation of new Air Handling Units
Will the rest of the leisure centre remain open during the refurbishment?

Yes. The rest of the leisure centre will remain open during Phase 1 of the refurbishment.

Where can I find up to date information regarding the scheduled maintenance works?

We will provide regular communication in relation to the works via numerous channels including:

  • This website
  • Emails through a newsletter, sign up via our dedicated website.
  • MonLife Social Media Channels.
  • Link via MonLife and Monmouthshire County Council website.
  • By scanning QR codes that is displayed in our Leisure Centres
  • MonLife member mailshots
Will there be any impact on the Learn 2 Swim programme?

Yes. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the refurbishment we are completely closing the pool for the duration of the works. Anyone affected by this will be contacted directly via email.

Will my membership be affected by the closure of the pool?

Unfortunately, due to the nature of the refurbishment we are completely closing the pool for the duration of the works. Therefore, this will have an impact on some members. All annual and direct debit members will be contacted by a member of our sales and membership team very shortly.

Will TMG still be running in October Half Term?

Yes. TMG will still be running at Chepstow Leisure Centre throughout October half term although swimming will not be part of the daily programme due to the closure of the pool.
